The film premiered at the opening weekend of the BFI London Film Festival and was released in 2023 to widespread critical acclaim, featuring in the best films of 2023 for the Guardian, Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair. Alongside the score, Hugo was responsible for coordinating and producing the on-screen performances of Tina Turner tracks and collaborating with British singer Alexandra Burke in her first screen role.
